SUMMARY

Remediation of the open dump is one of the important elements in the strategy of the protection of health environment. One of the more important elements which must be known planning, projecting an realization of the remediation of the open dump are also the characteristics, condition and the content of the disposed waste. The determination of these parameters enables the defining of the working technology as well as the undertaking the proper measures of the environmental protection in the course of the remediation of the object itself and after its ending. During 1994, 1995 and 1996 on the initiative of "ZGO" the investigation works have been performed several times. At the end of 1995 of one the more extensive investigation work was done on the samples of 1 m3 volume and of the age of between 2 and 25 years. With the aim of determining the morphological content, physical and chemical properties of the disposed waste.
