SUMMARY

Knowledge of physical and chemical properties of waste is important during planning, designing and implementing landfill remediation. These parameters help define operating technology during remediation as well as taking adequate measures for environmental protection after remediation is finished. Research and testing has been conducted number of times since 1994 on initiative from ZGO. The more detailed analysis on 1m3 of sampled waste was conducted in 1997 with parameters like chemical oxygen usage and TOC.
