SUMMARY

In the range of the Integrated Waste Management System for the City of Zagreb, primary recycling is one of the essential factors. The separate collection of some sorts of household waste was initiated in 1988. The expected results of the primary recycling and of the separate collection of pollutants were below the planned results, but taking into consideration the conditions under which it was performed the very good results were obtained. The realization of the set project was also performed, i.e. the results were summarized and the additional activities have been defined with the aim of the more efficient separate collection on the very place of origin. This work presents the results of the further development of this segment of the Integrated System in the City of Zagreb.
