THE POSSIBILITY OF FOUNDATION AND OPERATION REGIONAL LANDFILL FOR COUNTIES OSIJEK-BARANJA AND VUKOVAR-SRIJEM

SUMMARY

The building of one regional landfill or few landfills for each town particular, is still dilemma in Republic of Croatia. This study gives the possibility of building an one regional landfill for two counties: County of Osijek-Baranja and County of Vukovar-Srijem. First, an insight in existing conditions is made and today, waste dispose on 27 “formal” landfills and series of unformal landfills. In view of untenable existing conditions, which is also in oposite with positive law regulations of Republic of Croatia, it is approached to work out the solution which foresee the building of one regional landfill for both counties. The projections of creating, collecting and disposing the waste for period till 2025. are given. Total area of 36 ha is necessary for realization a new landfill, and investments in landfill area, facilities, infrastructure, mobile and stable equipments, in altitude of 55.788.000 DEM (including VAT) are envisaged. The calculation of compensation shows the moving through 25 years. The task of calculation of compensation for waste disposal was also to see social possibility if citizens can pay this price, but also that private investigator can find his interest to invest money in landfill.
