PROGRAM OF REMEDIATION AND MEASURES OF PROTECTION
FOR ILLEGAL WASTE DUMPS IN CROATIA

SUMMARY

As there are few of these landfills, the waste is disposed in different ways, but mostly illegal. Primary emphasis in managing waste is on managing, or in other words, controling waste producers and planned controled waste. Initial form of expression is environmental conscience. This work defines types of waste according to the Managing Waste Strategy. Exemples of locations are stated as well as the sanation program for specific locations which started sanation of open dumps. The work also explaines protection measurements required during and after sanation,which mostly depends on financial possibilties to pay these services, since some systems of handling and waste sanation are determined by legal regulations regarding influence on enviroment.
