SUMMARY

This paper gives data on waste quantites and waste management in Croatia. Since there are still questions on development of regional waste management centers, the state of pilot project in two counties are given: Osječko-baranjska and Vukovarsko-srijemska. The existing situation on landfills is given. It should be emphasized that situation is in violation of Croatian law on most landfill. We proposed solution in constructing regional waste landfills and closing and remediation all other landfills.
